The Northeast Wisconsin Master Gardener Association (NEW MG A) has been an active group since the mid-1970s and operates out of the Brown County UW-Extension Office at 210 Museum Place, Green Bay, WI 54303. Our Advisor is Vijai Pandian, Horticulture Educator for Brown County. Nearly 100 well-trained NEW Master Gardeners volunteer many hours in the community in each year.
If you’re interested in becoming a Master Gardener volunteer, the 12- week training session is held each year. Please click the "Becoming a Certified MG Volunteer" link for more information.
What is the Master Gardener Volunteer Program?
This is a program to train volunteers to assist UW-Extension in its mission to provide horticulture information and programs to the community . The Master Gardener Volunteer Program was created by Extension to meet an enormous increase in requests from home gardeners for horticultural information. Master Gardener Volunteers have become a vital part of Extension's ability to provide consumers with up-to-date reliable knowledge so they can enjoy and protect the value of horticulture and the environment around their homes. The Master Gardener Volunteer program has also become a fun and useful volunteer network which gives its participants a sense of community spirit, accomplishment, and an opportunity to learn new things.
