Communicable Disease Surveillance Group

BROWN COUNTY COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SURVEILLANCE GROUP

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Brown County Communicable Disease Surveillance Group is to enhance and strengthen communication of time-sensitive information as it pertains to communicable disease and infection control.

About

The Brown County Communicable Disease Surveillance Group started in 2003 as a communication tool to distribute time-sensitive communicable disease information between Public Health and Infection Control Preventionists. Quarterly meetings are held on the second Friday of the month in March, June, September and December at 7:00 a.m. Meetings are open to anybody in Brown County who works in, or has an interest in, communicable disease control. The meetings also serve as a place where local Infection Control Preventionists can network with one another. In addition to regular meetings, members are also notified directly of time-sensitive materials as it relates to communicable diseases.

Participants / Organizations

A wide range of organizations are represented by individuals committed to the control of communicable diseases. Under the leadership of Public Health, over 100 participants represent the following organizational groups: hospitals, clinics, schools, colleges/universities, community clinics, faith-based organizations, corrections, long-term care, hospice, home health, tribal health services, emergency medical services, and occupational health.
