Water: Water is available at the faucet at the side of Community Church, across the parking lot, next to the doors. A hose may be available for gardeners; please make sure to replace after use. Please make sure water is turned off when not in use.

Fencing: This garden is not fenced in. Gardeners are strongly encouraged to put up their own temporary fencing at the beginning of the season, due to pests (deer in particular). Many gardeners find black netting to be effective. Fencing must be removed at the end of each season.

Planting restrictions: This garden is plowed twice per year. Because of this, all plants must be annuals.

Soil: 2017 Community Church soil report; Lead test

Compost: The Community Church Community Garden does not have a compost bin.

Waste: There is not a garbage can available at the Community Church Community Garden. Waste must be carried out.

Other: Please make certain to weed the paths around your plot. This area is your responsibility, and failing to weed makes it very difficult for others to access their plots.

In addition to fencing, many gardeners make their own scarecrows to keep the deer away. Some ideas are hanging CDs, metal pie tins, or an old shirt. Anything that makes noise, moves, or is reflective can help scare animals away.
