A Word from Melinda Pollen

Hello Everyone! We are going to be trimming our weekly newsletter back to a bi-weekly newsletter. We feel some of the information is too repetitive and are seeing that people are missing some of the NEW information that is important. I think many are deleting the letter or skimming through it seeing too much of the same old, same old. We hope turning it into a twice a month newsletter will help things look fresh and the all the information in every letter we send out worth your full attention!

The next email newsletter will be sent out on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Between then, if we have any new information this page will be updated. Your best bet for the most updated information is to check out this webpage between the email newsletters!

Brown County Fair Accepting Applications for 2019 Fairest of the Fair
Entry Deadline: March 28, 2019

The Brown County Fair is announcing the search for the next Brown County Fairest of the Fair. The Fairest of the Fair serves as the media spokesperson and official host of the Brown County Fair. He/she will serve a one year term, receive a $1,000 scholarship, and also compete in the State Fairest of the Fairs competition in January.

Previous Fairest of the Fair, Meghan Buechel, of Wrightstown, WI, had the opportunity to participate in over 35 different events. Buechel, who is now 2019 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs says “this position is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share with people across Brown County the importance of our fair. In this role many wonderful memories are made, new friendships formed, and the unlocking of potential for both personal and professional growth.”

To apply for the role of Fairest of the Fair, male or female applicants must be at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2019, a resident of Brown County or who reside in an adjoining county if majority of fair and/or school activities are in Brown County. Applications and details are available by clicking here.

The Fairest of the Fair competition and gala will take place on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Neville Museum in Green Bay. The competition includes interviews and the delivery of a prepared 30-second radio commercial promoting the fair. Candidates will be judged on stage presence, personality, poise, public speaking, and knowledge of the Fair.

The purpose of the Brown County Fair is to provide an opportunity for youth and adults to gather in a family oriented environment to learn from each other by sharing experiences and accomplishments through exhibits and demonstrations and to bring urban and rural residents of all ages together to learn about Brown County's history, traditions and accomplishments through agriculture, family living, and business.
