Local Government Center Series
Run for It! Strategies to Cultivate Participation in Local Elected Office
September 25, 2019 11:00am to Noon
Free ZOOM Presentation for Community Development Educators and others

Is participation in your local governments diminishing? Is it hard finding qualified candidates to run? Does the current Board/Council represent the community in terms of gender, race, age and ethnicity? Do citizens avoid running due to concerns about how to run, what elected office is like, their qualifications or other factors such as negative attitudes toward government?

The Women in Government Group and Local Government Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension’s Community Development Institute are presenting a one-hour ZOOM “Run For IT! Strategies to Cultivate Participation in Local Elected Office.”
