Burial / End of Life Services

Burial: Cemeteries, plot allowance, headstones/ markers, burial expenses, Presidential Memorial Certificates.

Death Pension/Dependency and Indemnity Comensation (DIC): Death pension is a monthly benefit to spouse/children of a war-time veteran (non-service connected death) and is based on financial need. And DIC is a monthly benefit paid to spouse or children of a veteran who died during active military service (other conditions also apply, please call for details).

Health Care: CHAMPVA-spouse/children of veteran who died of service-connected disability OR was rated permanent and totally disabled for service connected disability at time of death OR died in the line of duty and whose dependents are not eligible for TRICARE.

Home Loan Guaranty: Un-remarried spouse of a veteran whose death was service connected is generally eligible.
Life Insurance Proceeds: Various insurance policies are available to veterans. Please see website on how to claim the proceeds.

Education and Training Education Program Refund: Refund of Montgomery GI Bill is available if veteran died while on active duty or within one year of discharge due to a service connected disability. Designated survivor of the Veterans Educational Assistance Program is eligible for refund of contributions which were not paid to the veteran in benefits.
