Boards and Committees

Brown County Human Services is guided and governed by two separate entities.
  • Brown County Human Services Board
The Human Services Board is an eight to fifteen member body appointed by the County Executive, consisting of citizen and elected representation. The board and its committees advise the Human Services Committee of the County Board on major issues and with respect to planning, budget, policy, and program evaluation matters. The Human Services Board, along with the Human Services Committee, designates a long-range planning and strategic policy process. In addition to broad statutory policy-making, the board advises the County Executive, composes recommendations on program policy, and advises the Department of Human Services and County Executive on annual budget appropriations.
  • Brown County Board of Supervisors-Human Services Committee
The Human Services Committee is a seven member body consisting of elected Brown County Supervisors. The Committee shall have the duty and responsibility to act as the policy oversight committee for the Human Services Department, approve or deny all requests for transfers in accordance with Section 65.90(5)(b), Wis. Stats., and review the annual executive budget and make recommendations to the County Board for the Board's consideration and adoption.
