Give-A-Kid-A-Book
You can make a difference!

Your generosity will be shared with hundreds of families.

Did you know donations are accepted all year long? Donations of new, unwrapped books for babies, children, or teens to age 18 can be dropped off at any Brown County Library at any time. Just let us know they are for Give-A-Kid-A-Book!

Help every child discover the joy of receiving one's very own book.

Thank you WBAY, TV-2 for this Public Service Announcement!

How can you help?

  • Donate NEW, unwrapped, unmarked books that are fun for babies, children or young adults up to age 18 by December 10. New, unwrapped books can be brought to any Brown County Library, Associated Bank, and several businesses throughout the county - just look for a Give-A-Kid-A-Book donation box!

  • Unsure of what books to buy? Browse this list for suggestions!

  • Donate money and the library will shop for you! Make checks payable to "Friends of BCL, GAKAB" and mail it to 515 Pine Street, Green Bay, WI 54301.

  • The Friends of the Brown County Library would like to gratefully acknowledge the Brown County Community Women's Club and Associated Bank for their generous donations of $2500.00 each. These contributions not only help underwrite expenses of the campiagn including, but not exclusive to, promotional materials and book purchases, but they are also a wonderful statement of these organization's committment to and support of the importance of books in children's lives. Thank you!

In 2011, over 10,000 books were collected from corporate and individual donors. Local, independent bookstores provided discounts on Give-A-Kid-A-Book purchases and book fairs hosted by local businesses benefited Give-A-Kid-A-Book. Most of these books were distributed to thousands of local children during the holidays. The remaining books found their way into the hands of kids in the community through various Brown County programs that promote reading year round.
