Give-A-Kid-A-Book
Betina Driver, spokesperson for Give-A-Kid-A-BookYou can make a difference!

Your generosity will be shared with hundreds of families.

Did you know donations are accepted all year long? Donations of new, unwrapped books for babies, children, or teens to age 18 can be dropped off at any Brown County Library at any time. Just let us know they are for Give-A-Kid-A-Book!

Help every child discover the joy of receiving one's very own book.

How can you help?

  • Donate NEW, unwrapped, unmarked books that are fun for babies, children or young adults up to age 18. New, unwrapped books can be brought to any Brown County Library, Associated Bank, and several businesses throughout the county - just look for a Give-A-Kid-A-Book donation box!

  • Unsure of what books to buy? Browse this list for suggestions!

  • Donate money and the library will shop for you! Make checks payable to "Friends of BCL, GAKAB" and mail it to 515 Pine Street, Green Bay, WI 54301.

In 2008, over 12,200 books were collected from corporate and individual donors. Local, independent bookstores provided discounts on Give-A-Kid-A-Book purchases and book fair and book signing events at Barnes & Noble as well as book fairs hosted by local businesses benefited Give-A-Kid-A-Book. Most of these books were distributed to 5,400 local children during the holidays. The remaining books found their way into the hands of kids in the community through various Brown County programs that promote reading year round.
